About me

What's up? I'm Anna, a passionate reader and reviewer of a multitude of genres. I've been reviewing books since 2010, and I've had the chance to work with tons of amazing authors, publishers and other bloggers. When I'm not reading, I'm either working, traveling, or binge watching reality TV shows.

Enjoy, Anna

What are your weekend plans?        I' What are your weekend plans?

I'm planning to finally do some reading (I've been super busy) - I'm hoping to read at least two books this weekend. I'm also hoping to get some new bookstagram pictures taken - I'm having a ton of fun experimenting with new lighting techniques.

The Duke and I summary:
In the ballrooms and drawing rooms of Regency London, rules abound. From their earliest days, children of aristocrats learn how to address an earl and curtsey before a prince—while other dictates of the ton are unspoken yet universally understood. A proper duke should be imperious and aloof. A young, marriageable lady should be amiable… but not too amiable.

Daphne Bridgerton has always failed at the latter. The fourth of eight siblings in her close-knit family, she has formed friendships with the most eligible young men in London. Everyone likes Daphne for her kindness and wit. But no one truly desires her. She is simply too deuced honest for that, too unwilling to play the romantic games that captivate gentlemen.

Amiability is not a characteristic shared by Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings. Recently returned to England from abroad, he intends to shun both marriage and society—just as his callous father shunned Simon throughout his painful childhood. Yet an encounter with his best friend’s sister offers another option. If Daphne agrees to a fake courtship, Simon can deter the mamas who parade their daughters before him. Daphne, meanwhile, will see her prospects and her reputation soar.

The plan works like a charm—at first. But amid the glittering, gossipy, cut-throat world of London’s elite, there is only one certainty: love ignores every rule

Have you picked up any new hobbies since quarantin Have you picked up any new hobbies since quarantine started? If so, what are they?

My latest hobby has been photography - specifically learning off camera flash techniques. I've been practicing a ton, but this is one of the first pictures I've really felt has turned out well. This picture is using a single flash with a beauty dish attached.

Also, you should read Float Plan by Trish Doller if you haven't already, I highly, highly recommend it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Have you been rereading books more since the pande Have you been rereading books more since the pandemic started?

The one year anniversary of when I started to work from home at the beginning of the pandemic passed last week, and it's really made me think about how different my life was this year. Every aspect of my life was impacted, but I found my reading habits changed a lot in particular. In a normal year, I reread a handful of books a year and mostly focus on reading new books. This past year, however, has been incredibly stressful and I've found myself gravitating towards rereading my favorite comfort reads over and over.

One of those comfort rereads was of Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. This book was one of my first romance novels and was definitely the gateway to my current romance novel addiction. It's also the reason I visited Paris a few years ago, and is the book that I compare most of my other romance reads to. I own a few editions, but I think this collectors edition is by far the prettiest (and is one of my favorite books on my shelf).

Where do you want to travel when the pandemic is o Where do you want to travel when the pandemic is over?

Every day the pandemic continues, my list of list of hypothetical travel destinations gets longer and longer. Since it's not currently safe to travel, I've been reading lots of books featuring places where I eventually want to go - including the lovely books in this stack.

Books in the stack:
Paris for One by Jojo Moyes - Paris, France
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple - Antarctica
Shipped by Angie Hockman - Galapagos Islands
The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker - Alaska, USA
Much Ado About You by Samantha Young - England
Float Plan by Trish Doller - The Caribbean
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren - Hawaii, USA
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - Paris, France (can you tell I'm really dying to go back to Paris?)
