Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is Bookstores /Libraries I’ve Always Wanted to Visit. I’m going to spin this one a little bit, and do the list of amazing bookstores, museums and libraries I’ve been to! In no particular order…
- Vancouver Public Library – Vancouver, Canada
- Shakespeare and Company – Paris, France
- New York Public Library – New York, USA
- Koerner Library – Vancouver, Canada (IT’S SHAPED LIKE AN OPEN BOOK)
- The Louvre – Paris, France
- Rijksmuseum – Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Van Gogh Museum – Amsterdam, Netherlands (my absolute favorite artist)
- Musee d’Orsay – Paris, France
- Sistine Chapel – Vatican City
- Versailles Palace – Versailles, France

The Vancouver Public Library is INCREDIBLE! I was in awe when I went there a couple of weeks ago. Truly jealous.
It’s beautiful! With the new rooftop garden addition I can’t wait to go back!
I have been to the New York Public Libray and the Van Gogh Museum. What are your favourite pictures by Van Gogh? I love the Sun Flower and The Starry Night and Cafe Terrance at Night and of course his Cherry Trees!
I adore both the Starry Nights, the almond blossoms, Wheat Field with Crows, and a lot of his self portraits
Oh yeah, a Wheat Field with Crowns is also a great one! 😀
I just discovered yesterday that a museum not far from where I live will have a Van Gogh exhibition! I got so excited 😀 haha
The New York Public Library is amazing! Those lions!
Right?
You’ve been to some amazing places! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday
Thanks!
I spent many hours snoozing in Koerner library when I was an undergrad, and the central branch of the Vancouver Public Library just had a refresh, making it even cooler! You definitely have to come visit!
Koerner is such a good library for studying! I can’t wait to get to the main VPL branch to see the new rooftop area!
Great list! I have such regrets for not having seen the Sistine chapel when I was in Rome. But since you will always return to Rome I hope to get another chance one day 🙂
I hope you get the chance to see it! It’s spectacular!
I would love to get to Shakespeare & Company some day.
If you do, explore the upper floor. It’s cozy and bookish and wonderful
I’ve been to the Sistine Chapel… I think twice. I’d love to go to the Louvre. How nice that you’ve been able to see all these incredible places!
I would highly recommend the Louvre! Go in the evening on a Wednesday to appreciate longer hours and fewer people
Agh I’m jealous, I’d love to go to Shakespeare and Company!
