Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is New-to-Me Authors I Read In 2018. This topic is pretty easy for me – I went through a period where I wasn’t really reading much due to life getting in the way. Since I didn’t read much for almost five years, some really great authors debuted and I was lucky enough to get to read some of them last year.

  1. Andy Weir (The Martian)
  2. Ernest Cline (Ready Player One)
  3. Bob Thomas (Walt Disney: An American Original)
  4. Gail Honeyman (Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine)
  5. Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies)
  6. Josie Silver (One Day in December)
  7. Sally Thorne (The Hating Game)
  8. Michelle Obama (this one almost feels like cheating to include, but Becoming was one of the best books I read last year)
  9. Nicola Yoon (The Sun is Also a Star)
  10. E. Lockhart (We Were Liars)

  1. It’s not quite Tuesday here yet, so mine isn’t posted but I enjoyed your list and have read a good chunk of those books/authors as well.

  2. SAME, this list will also be pretty easy for me to create, because I didn’t get back into reading until the end of 2017/beginning of 2018! This is a really good list & a lot of these books are on my TBR!

  3. The Martian was such a good story. I’m still on a very long waiting list at the library for Becoming, but I think I’ll get to read it in a few months.

This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

  4. I liked We Were Liars, and Liane Moriarty is pretty much an auto buy author for me after Big Little Lies. I really need to read more of E. Lockhart’s stuff…

  5. Great post and great list of books I have a physical copy of We Are Liers by E. Lockheart but I haven’t read it yet, but I am really hopeful that I can read that book this year. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.
