Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is Standalone Books That Need a Sequel. I’m gonna keep this list short – for the most part, I really enjoy when a story wraps up nicely in a single book. That being said, there are definitely some exceptions.
- The Martian by Andy Weir
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
- Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
- Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
- The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

Didn’t you think that Ready Player One finished nicely? What else can they say? My TTT list
I wasn’t a massive fan of Fangirl, but it would be interested to have a sequel!
*interesting
Fangirl made my list this week too! I didn’t see enough of those two in the book.
I would love to see more Fangirl. And yes Big Little Lies! I would love to see another chapter in the lives of Madeline and some of the others.
Oh, I’d love to see a sequel to The Martian.
My Top Ten Tuesday post.
I agree that it was pretty hard to find standalones that didn’t already feel complete! That’s sort of the beauty of standalones. :3 I really enjoyed Ready Player One, and I’d love to see a sequel for that, too!
Nice reading your thoughts. I´m still waiting for the sequel to The Host by Stephanie Meyer but I guess all hope is lost now that she has begun to write other stuff 😛
The Carry On books are the sequels I wanted from Fangirl! 😂 And ooh, Big Little Lies would have been so much fun as a series. I’m a little sad we never find out what becomes of the characters after everything.
