Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is Character’s I’d name a pet after. I personally love this weeks prompt, because it’s something I actually did. When I adopted my dog, I named him after Mark Watney from The Martian. I had plenty of backup options though – some of which are on this list.
- Mark Watney from The Martian by Andy Weir – this one is a gimme
- Chip from Beauty and The Beast – this was my back up name, but it turns out my dog was more of a Watney
- Gus from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
- Ron from Harry Potter by She Who Shall Not Be Named
- Daisy from The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald
- Darcy from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
- Dobby from Harry Potter by She Who Shall Not Be Named
- Pumpkin from Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell
- Prim from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
- Sadie from Sadie by Courtney Summers

I like the name Gus for a dog.
Daisy would be a sweet dog name. And a good name when calling the pet. I had a lot of fun this week creating my list because I’ve had a lot of pets named for literary charactersMy TTT List
She Who Shall Not Be Named! Yes, I couldn’t help but include a Harry Potter character because I love the series, but I so relate to this. Also love the idea of pets named Gus, Darcy and Prim!
Oh I love the names chip and prim! They sound so cute and would totally fit with a smaller dog or cat.
Great list! Chip is such a cute name for a dog.
Dobby would be such a cute name for a pet! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Dobby is such a fun choice.
My post.
Ah Dobby would be such a cute dog name!

Chip from Beauty & the Beast would be an adorable pet name!
What a great name for a dog! Watney never would have crossed my mind, but I love it. These are all great, but I’m a little partial to Chip.
