Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This weekβs topic is Books Written Before I Was Born. Honestly, it was tricky for me to find ten books for this topic – I’m very much a current reader and don’t tend to explore books more than a few years old. Here are a few books older than me that I’ve enjoyed.
- Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
- The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
- And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
- The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald
- Walt Disney: An American Original by Bob Thomas
- The Giver by Lois Lowry
- Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
- Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts
- The Hunter by LJ Smith
- Wild Magic by LJ Smith

I’ve read a few Agatha Christie books but can’t think what they were at the moment. I hope you can stop by:

I remember liking the book by Billie Letts, too. I try to read books from a variety of time periods though recently I’ve spent more time in the 21st century than any other. My TTT list
I’ve only read the first Giver book, thanks for the reminder that I ought to read the rest. And btw, love your bookstagram! π Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/books-written-before-i-was-born-the-classics-edition/
The Giver was such a good read.
My post.
Great list! Tamora Pierce and Tolkien are two authors I still need to try.
Great choices! I love the Tamora PIerce books, and need to read more Agatha Christie!
Great list! The LJ Smith books were popular when I was in high school. Hahaha.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Where the Heart is! Now you’re just making me feel old.
The Giver is a favorite of mine! I need to read Tolkein’s books eventually too.
Lots of good ones on this list, but I’m very excited to see something less frequently listed on TTT like Where The Heart Is. I read it on a whim a few years ago, not even realizing it was well known/popular, and was so impressed that I immediately followed it up with The Honk and Holler Opening Soon (didn’t enjoy quite as much, but still good).
