I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from Those Who Prey – I had never read a book about cults before and have never been a big fan of organized religion. However, the idea of a book about a girl whose loneliness leads her to fall for the alure of a cult (or a church as it’s disguised) was enough to make me sign up for this blog tour, and I’m so, so grateful that I did.
Sadie meets The Girls in this riveting debut psychological thriller about a lonely college freshman seduced into joining a cult—and her desperate attempt to escape before it’s too late.
College life isn’t what Emily expected.
She expected to spend freshman year strolling through the ivy-covered campus with new friends, finally feeling like she belonged. Instead, she walks the campus alone, still not having found her place or her people so far away from home.
But then the Kingdom finds her.
The Kingdom, an exclusive on-campus group, offers everything Emily expected of college and more: acceptance, friends, a potential boyfriend, and a chance to spend the summer in Italy on a mission trip. But the trip is not what she thought it would be. Emily and the others are stripped of their passports and money. They’re cut off from their families back home. The Kingdom’s practices become increasingly manipulative and dangerous.
Hello and welcome to my stop on the A Wicked Magic blog tour! My stop is a review stop – but be sure to check out the other excellent posts for the rest of the tour here: TBR & Beyond Tours. Without further adieu, my tour stop:
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina meets The Craft when modern witches must save teens stolen by an ancient demon in this YA fantasy-thriller debut.
Dan and Liss are witches. The Black Book granted them that power. Harnessing that power feels good, especially when everything in their lives makes them feel powerless.
During a spell gone wrong, Liss’s boyfriend is snatched away by an evil entity and presumed dead. Dan and Liss’s friendship dies that night, too. How can they practice magic after the darkness that they conjured?
Readers of my blog are very familiar with my passion for contemporary romances – I’m a sucker for the happily ever afters, the drama, and the currently-trendy illustrated covers. When I first heard about A Sweet Mess it checked a ton of boxes for me, namely, it’s about a star crossed romance between a food critic, and the owner of a restaurant that he panned in a review. I recently finished this book (review to come!) and I can’t wait for you guys to get to experience it.
Please enjoy and excerpt of A Sweet Mess by Jayci Lee, as a part of the official blog tour!

“How’s this?” He’d chosen a small table at the back corner. When Aubrey nodded, he pulled out her chair and took a seat across from her.
Their proximity and relative privacy made the air between them hum with electricity. Their knees brushed every time either of them shifted in their seat, sending bolts of desire through him. A sharp intake of breath and a parting of her lips revealed Aubrey wasn’t immune to their magnetic attraction.
