Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is Books I’d Gladly Throw Into the Ocean. I’m taking this to mean – books that I would rather never have to see again. Honestly, lately I’ve had a fair amount of DNF books and 1 star reads – I think my tolerance for bad books is getting lower the older I get.
- Normal People by Sally Rooney
- Saving Zoe by Alyson Noel
- The Wrong Mr Darcy by Evelyn Lozada
- When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
- Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
- Mr Malcolm’s List by Suzanne Allain
- A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas
- Adultolescence by Gabbie Hannah
- The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris – seriously a very problematic book, read more here
- Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman

I have not read any of these, so I think I will be glad about that!
I really disliked Normal People as well!

I didn’t like When Dimple Met Rishi either. Heave ho! My TTT is off-the-board this week
I liked the books on this list that I’ve read, but no book will please everybody!
Ooh I love a controversial topic 😀 Luckily not read any of these but can definitely think of a few I’d happily yeet into the ocean.
” I think my tolerance for bad books is getting lower the older I get.”
Honestly, same here.

I’ve read The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Something in the water. I’ll need to go and check your post on The tattooist now.
I didn’t have high hopes for Midnight Sun and didn’t even bother trying it!
Ten Books I’d gladly throw into the ocean (for the mermaids to read)
I’ve not read any of these, but I’m sorry you didn’t like them.

I agree, my tolerance for bad books seems to be decreasing as I get older as well, haha. I hadn’t heard about the problematic aspects of The Tattoist of Auschwitz, so thanks for sharing that! It’s not one I would generally be inclined to pick up, but I always like being aware of issues in case I did ever consider it.
