Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s prompt is a freebie – so I’ve decided to just list the books I think would make for good gifts this year.
- The Harry Potter Series – for the person on your list who has been living under a rock.
- The Martian by Andy Weir – for the person on your list who follows the NASA page on Facebook or has a fascination with space.
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline – for the gamer on your list.
- Becoming by Michelle Obama – for anyone who wants to read a fascinating tale of growing up and defining the kind of person you want to be.
- One Day in December by Josie Silver – for the lover of rom-coms in your life.

Good shopping list. Of course, the Harry Potter books are for my nieces and nephew as well as Percy Jackson. I am always looking for ways of trying to give books.
Harry Potter is absolutely a great gift (and the reason is so funny! lol! 😀 ) One book I really want to gift everyone is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
Potter and Ready Player One for sure! I love those books so much!
Lovely choices. Harry Potter is always a fantastic gift!
That’s a great list! I imagine Michelle Obama’s book is fascinating.
Ready Player One would be a good book to read.
I recently read One Day in December and know it’s getting lots of buzz. It just wasn’t for me though. I love buying books for people. Such fun!
This is such a great list! Becoming by Michelle Obama is definitely something I’d want to find under the tree 🙂
Here’s my TTT!
Great recommendations!
I am really excited to hear HP make the list. It’s a great gift for anyone who has or hasn’t read the series. For the super fan/collector, you can buy editions of the books they don’t have, for the newbie… well, like you said! It’s kind of my go-to gift for my younger cousins and their kids. At this point, I feel like it’s an unspoken rule that I’ll be forever gifting that series! Anyways, great recs/list!
