Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is books that I refuse to let anyone touch. I love this topic – I definitely have a few books that I don’t lend out and try to keep close to home.
- The Fault in our Stars by John Green
- The Martian by Andy Weir – After I read this for the first time, I bought everyone in my family a copy so they could read it ASAP.
- One Day in December by Josie Silver
- Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare – I have an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I definitely have not let anyone borrow it.
- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi – Another old ARC I have that I’m pretty protective over.
- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer – This might be a trend, but it’s another ARC that I don’t lend out.
- Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty – I actually accidentally destroyed my first copy (water + books isn’t a good combo).
- Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman – Another where I’ve bought copies for friends
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I am the odd man out. I don’t seem to collect “special” books…but then I really don’t loan out books, either. If I don’t want them, I just give them away, no loans. My TTT list this week
Water and books are NOT a good combo lol- as I’ve discovered once or twice, sadly. I love Big Little Lies. 🙂
I’ve gotten a Kindle and a hardback copy of a few books. One advantage of getting a Kindle copy is you can loan it out to your family members!
I think it’s so cool that you bought copies of The Martian for everyone in your family.
My TTT.
Oh I have discovered that water & books are not a good combo several times, I actually keep water in a separate bag now when I’m travelling because I’m so paranoid about it!

I loved Big Little Lies! And I hear you – I cannot tell you how many cookbooks I’ve ruined by spilling part of the recipe onto the recipe! LOL
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
I think it’s awesome that you loved The Martian so much that you gave it to everyone. I have done that with a few books myself.
My TTT.
SCarlett Arc, how cool! I wouldn’t be lending that out either!
Nothing wrong with wanting to keep these books in perfect condition!
Interesting. I rarely keep ARCs. Either I pass them on to other people or I donate them to Little Free Libraries.
Happy TTT!

I cannot believe you have an ARC of Clockwork Prince! I would treasure that like my life depends on it and can totally see why you don’t lend it out! I think out of all of Cassandra Clare’s writing TDI is my favorite trilogy by her and one I have read, and will continue, to read over. It’s just such a fun story with such high rereadability.
