Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is Books I Enjoyed That Are Outside of My Comfort Zone. This year I’ve been making an effort to not pigeonhole myself into any particular genre and to expand my reading horizons.

  1. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
  2. Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer
  3. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
  4. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
  5. The Woman in Cabin Ten by Ruth Ware
  6. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
  7. Becoming by Michelle Obama
  8. Walt Disney: An American Original by Bob Thomas
  9. Room by Emma Donoghue
  10. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

  1. I really liked ‘Room’ but I thought it was one of those rare cases where the movie adaptation was even better ! 🙂 I only read about half of ‘Gone Girl’ but I liked the parts I read. For me fantasy, science fiction, and mystery are all slightly out of my comfort zone of what I usually read so those are what I’d read for a while to expand my horizons. Also, I NEVER read westerns, romance, erotica, or non-memoir non-fiction. Cool list; I’ve heard nothing but good things about ‘Children of Blood and Bone!’
